Fuel cap not opening properly

Hi guys,

 

When I press the button to open my fuel cap it 'pops' but doesn't open any more, prpbably opens 1-2mm...

 

I had a quick search around and didn't find the solution. Any ideas?

Spray wd 40 in where the plastic pin pulls back to free cap if you can get it open. Plastic pin starts to stick over a period of time.

Mash button repeatedly in quick succession

Mine has only gotten stuck once or twice. Once its open just spay a little WD40 on the latch and clean off any muck.

If you ever get stuck you can open it manually from inside the boot behind the trim panel.

Same happened to me today, only problem is pushed the release a bit to hard and the switch went back through the dashboard !!!! Oh well something else to fix!!

i did that 2 days ago... its a bugger to get back in if you've got fat fingers...

WD 40 and don't be lazy, mine only opens about 3/4 of the way...

 

then flip it open the rest of the way..
