Commander Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Who does them? Where? How much? 6th gear has crunched its self a few times now (HR Manual) and second is getting harder to engage when cold. I want to nip this in the bud quickly and get a reconditioned one installed before it starts spitting cogs and shafts out. Any recommendations please? Thanks! Quote

Commander Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 I might be wrong, but I think all of the above will sell me a second-hand box that hasn't even been inspected internally, let alone had a refurb or come with a warranty? I'll PM them and find out, but if I'm going through the trouble of swapping a box over, I want to be certain the new one is a good'un! Quote
Tinyflier Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 I recall some time ago being told, I think by Sly at Kaizer Motors, that a 'box rebuild would be between £600 and £900 depending on what parts needed to be replaced. David Quote
Commander Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Thanks... That's better than the 1400 I've just been quoted! Quote
Ewen@Clark Motorsport Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 We can have your box stripped inspected and rebuilt cost is dependent on whats required but the labor price is fixed. Drop me a PM or give me a call for more information. Ewen Quote
ZMANALEX Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 PM received and replied to, and as Ewen has said a cost effective rebuild is the way forward, providing only the faulty parts are replaced. However, if you follow the Nissan workshop manual then you will end up replacing most of the internals. Quote
