hensh65 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Just done half an hour polishing it with megs polish. Took away quite a lot of the scuffs and dulled the deeper ones down. Do you think a cutting compound could save what is remaining? Quote

AMT Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Unlucky mate. After some polishing doesn't look too bad, but just depends how far you can go with product. I had a similar shunt in my silver coupe in 2009 and it managed to buff out with the silver hiding the lighter marks. Hope it hasn't dented the panel in. 1 Quote

Do you think a cutting compound could save what is remaining? It depends how deep it is. If it catches on your nail it'll probably need paint, otherwise you should be able to polish it out. To be honest I wouldn't want to remove too much paint without a paint depth reading on it, but a PDG (gauge) isn't cheap. Quote

Of course, I remember your thread now (the one you've cunning hidden in you sig right in front of me ). You should be all right then, but the depth of the scratch will determine if it can be polished out still. 1 Quote

Other colours do hide it better. Cant wait for lake Zed. Gkad the pr!ck this morning did have me coming down in a taxi Quote
