E36 M3 Saloon... Probably have a 100k on it and a crap interior though.

Looking for 4doors for ease of getting in and out back

Saloons have 4 doors! :)

Thought they didn't make the 4 door ones for the UK market?

There's one for sale on PistonHeads...

Yes I still intend to go ring every year, and break the 9m barrier.

I was looking at getting a track car and then a family daily car, but the cost will just be too much, so need a car that can do both.

And yes, I've already told her I'm still going every year!!

I rarely drink or spend money on expensive clothes/watches etc. so it's my yearly treat to myself. 10+ laps of the ring with a few mates for the weekend is all I need! (Well, maybe a trip to spa on the way!)

And then 2/3 other trackdays throughout the year if time/funds allow.

I looked at the 330d, but I've had two e46s (320ci and a 325i) and disliked them both after a few weeks/months. So I imagine I'll grow to hate it aswell.

I don't see the need for the estate/wagon wrx? Surely the saloon is suffice?

Would love a big v8 but the fuel would just empty my wallet I think!

You can get R33 Saloons, in fact they are much cheaper than the coupes ;) http://www.pistonhea...me-cond/2281976

F**k ugly though.

OP - as the father of twins, I see where you are coming from about 4 doors.

But in all honesty, 3 doors isn't too much of a deal breaker. We managed quite easily when we had a 3 door focus as a courtesy car.

I was thinking that, but what convinced me I needed 4 doors was when I saw someone getting a kid in the back of a Clio 172.....

I can squat in the back of my R33 facing the child booster seat - am a touch under six foot tall and its easy to push the passenger seat forwards and folded carry little in facing the back of the car and fix him in whilst squatting in the rear seat footwell as it were. And I am nearly 40 and not at all flexible  And for the number of times you need to actually do it, is it worth cutting in half your options?

I've ruled out 3dr cars as they just seem far too much hassle day to day.

If there was a car that I loved more and couldn't bear to part with it, then i would put up with it, but I haven't found that yet!

Thats because you haven't bought a Skyline yet...
