My zed is a Virgin, she has had no modifications at all!

This is good, but she's a bit quiet, which exhaust can I put on her that won't break the bank and make it sound like it should?

Thanks all,

Tom

P. S Must sound like a race car :p

Hey Tom, have a good read through here; http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/56-exhaust/

So many options and it's all personal taste imo plus what might break your bank might not even bother others so you really need to let people know your budget.

Also there are loads of videos of exhausts on Youtube and on here but then again they all sound different depending on what camera they've been recorded on, what speakers they're played through and what your hearings like.

Good luck.

Budget is as low as possible, would £300 do it?

I want a deep sounding exhaust, that gives off a deep burble

For £300 you won't get anything other than some cheap cr*p chinese exhaust off eBay.:lol: An extra £100 though and your in the Cobra exhaust system price range which a lot of people have & like.

You could always check out the for sale section on here though to see if you can find a nice second hand exhaust. Some examples;

Good luck again.

I'll have aftermarket Y-pipe for sale (£120+p&p) as of tomorrow! It's used, but just had brand new flexies welded on! PM me if interested :)

Nissan 350Z Scorpion Exhaust Sound:

Quite like the noise of the Scorpion, how is it on the motorway, the cobra sounds a bit quiet to me!

I think it's Japspeed! Flexies were welded on by a professional welder (usually charges £100 per hour...good job he didn't charge me  ) and he checked other welds and said its all good!

Picking it up tomorrow, so will have pics then

Other way round, Scorpion is quieter than the Cobra.

I have a Cobra non res which is fairly loud, no rasp. You don't tend to get rasp until you change the cats for decats or HFC. Has a nice burble and produces little pops and bangs when it's hot. This is with a stock y-pipe (got a Cobra one coming from CS soon, which may alter the sound slightly) I believe his group buy is also still on which will give you a nice discount :)

Regarding sound...since its only part of the exhaust and not whole system - it will make a bit of difference, but not much or very noticeable.

Soon of later you'll need to replace your OEM y-pipe anyway as flexies fail on them quite often :)

I got de-cats, aftermarket y-pipe and scorpion exhaust and I love it! Had many people commenting good things about it as well!

I want a deep burble through the city but something that will open up when booting it and not be too noisy cruising, just looking through YouTube video now

Cobra is as you describe :)

YouTube videos don't really reflect how an exhaust sounds in person, best thing is to find someone local to you with the setup you want and have a listen.

you need a cobra resonated exhaust from CS, sounds lovely, no drone at cruising but opens up over 3500rpm to a gorgeous growl. Best ~£440 you'll spend on the car.

I heard this very pipe today sounded perfect

Also have a cobra system fitted and on motorway it's easy to sit at 65/ 70 without any drone and sounds lovely when you want it to
