I also use the £15 one from Amazon. Works perfectly on the 350 and I've also used it on a friend's Megane, Astra and Saab to read and clear various faults for them.

You need some kind of software with it too. I use Torque for Android (But it's also available for iOS). Plug it in, pair it with your phone / tablet via Bluetooth and way you go.

I used one of those Bluetooth ones and it linked up once then never again. The cheap wired ones with the displays work fine.

Not on an import though as they don't use OBD2

Thats mine and it works great. Also on an Hyundai i10 but not a Lexus LS400. That may help someone but probably not...

I'm confused (goes with getting on a bit) so the £4.90 OBD2 needs additional software to Bluetooth with my iPad , but the maxiscan mx309 works just by plugging it in and reading off the code? Is that right.

Spot on, the Maxiscan has its own screen. The cheaper bluetooth one needs to connect to a bluetooth device. If its android you can get the .apk file and install, legally of course.

Thanks Hooch I'll order the Mexiscan then cos I can't be bothered with these software driven things, they always give me grief!
