Insuring a second car (Shed)

Hi Guys.

Just bought myself a Suzuki Ignis, as a cheap runabout, went through one of these comparison sites, at first the price didn't seem that bad, but what I didn't foresee was the fact that you can only have your no claims bonus (9 years) on one car at a time.

thus I'll be in essence starting afresh with (0 years for the shed) which as made it pretty dear to insure.

any pointers would we very much appreciated on how to proceed.

Most good insurance companies will mirror your ncb on a second car, mine do.

I had the Zed with Admiral, then proceeded to buy a shed. They gave me a Multicar quote letting me use my NCB on the 2nd car too.

Some insurers will mirror your NCB. A-Plan did for me when I got the MR2.

I'm with swift cover and they gave me the same NCB as as on my zed. So I got 10years discount off my second car.

same with me. Went with Admiral and they mirrored by 9 years ncd from my fiesta on to my zed :-)

I had to start from new with my Renault Clio for the simple reason that I needed to put my daughter, then aged 19 and a provisional license holder on the insurance. Worked out quite well when she came to insure the car herself as Admiral gave her one year NCB for being on my policy for 4 years.
