Rear subframe/brace

Fluke

Recommended Posts

Whilst my 350z was in for it's MOT, I noticed that my rear subframe/brace looked heavily corroded. Before I put up a wanted ad and spend money on powder coating, can anyone tell me how hard it is to replace it? Is it possible to do it on a drive way?

That will be expensive I'm afraid, I know from experience. Mine had two hairline fractures in it, you can source a brand new one from ZMANALEX, but it involves dropping the rear diff out and a lot of suspension work so a garage might be your best bet.

Thanks for the replies, Is it easy to remove? I can get it sand blasted powder coated very cheaply.

I'd probably recommend soda blasting if possible as it's less abrasive and will damage the part less. There's 3 bolts at either end and then 4 in the middle if I recall correctly :)
