essces56 Posted November 12, 2013 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Has anyone any advice for a decrepit old wimp who can't stand English Winters and is putting the Z under wraps before fleeing the "sceptred isle" for a few months. For example, should the battery be disconnected and if it is will the alarm go off? Or if it isn't will the alarm still go off when it discharges? Any other tips welcome. Thanks. RafsZed Posted November 12, 2013 Share Posted November 12, 2013 I know exactly what you need its called a CTEK battery conditioner, about £35 on ebay, it will keep your battery charged up and in tip top condition, google it, its a great piece of kit, just plug it in and leave it. R35LEE Posted November 12, 2013 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Seals can contract & perish etc over long periods and when in the cold then when started seals blow etc. Starting periodically helps but not just left running at idol for prolonged periods because the oil pressure stays low which isn't the best for engine wear.
