Yampiedog Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I was wondering how the bite was on others clutches - i'm guessing I find that the clutch bites at about 3/4 out. Is this too high? Quote
rothers2901 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I dont think so, Ive had mine for about 3 1/2 years and the clutch is near the top end, never had any problems. Quote
Keyser Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 They do have a high bite point - have a search some guides on here about making adjustments Quote
Yampiedog Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Cheers guys, not worried about where it bites if that is the norm, I can live with that better than thinking my clutch is on its way out! Quote
Yampiedog Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Now wondering if the clutch is going as it over revs when accelerating, worse in higher gears... Is this a job that an amateur could succeed at replacing with the car jacked up on axle stands? I don't have either the Nissan Service manual or the Haynes manual at present so don't know exactly what it entails on this beast. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Yes it is a DIY if you are handy with the tools and you have the correct tools and equipment to carry out the task. It is a 2 man job as the gearbox is heavy. Quite a few forum members have successfully fitted a new clutch and fly kit. Or you could pay a carefully selected garage circa £200.00 to do the work for you 350Z VQ35DE Clutch and fly kits are here if required: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/63721-exedy-clutch-kits-27500-ultra-light-flys-34500/ In stock and good to go same/next day . Just drop me a PM if I can help you further. Alex. Quote
Yampiedog Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Not something I am prepared to try then, will have to find trusted garage near to home... Quote
Yampiedog Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Another question - is the clutch hydraulic or cable? Quote
Yampiedog Posted May 12, 2013 Author Posted May 12, 2013 (edited) I understand it is automatic adjustment too which means there is no room for human adjustment? Edited May 12, 2013 by Yampiedog Quote
