Cemetery Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 How important is it to get a service from a dealer vs an independent? I have the 72k service soon and the quote I have had for it came at £481 which seems somewhat OTT. I don't want to cut corners on the car service but equally given what little is actually done for the p3 nearly £500 seems well over the top. Is it ok to go to any reasonable garage or should I find a nissan prefered one or should it be a dealer? Cheers, Adam. Quote
Dblock Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Specialists are usually better and will do a better job with the car. To people not in the know FNSH might be a plus but you wont make back what you spend on the rip off nissan prices. Where in the country are you? Quote

Have a look in the servicing section to see who near you had had reviews. Quote
spursmaddave Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Not the great sales point it used to be especially on a car like a Zed. FNSH vs Abbey or Falcon or CS or Dixon etc etc I know which I would be more impressed by Quote

Is there a specific list of recommended places somewhere in here then? I did think based on the cost the dealer charged it would never support the price on resale but I want to make sure it gets looked after properly Quote
Gudzy Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I've got no experience of them myself but FCM Motorsport are traders on here and are based in Bristol. Quote

dragon Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Good thing about indy's is they normaly let you supply your own parts, which is good for you as plenty of traders on here, then you know you have fitted quality parts. Quote

Allan Zada Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) Dealers do get alot of bad press if you ask me. I work in a Audi dealer. Haven't had an dealings with a nissan dealer to be fair but we will price match independents and we will also let you supply your own parts, as long as they are genuine mind which the zman sells. Chris AME Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 We try to offer independant prices, supply your own parts and you keep your nissan stamp in the service book Quote
