lomoto Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Why does everyone change the aerial? God knows why nixy ?? I like the standard one Quote
lomoto Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 see this thread for poll results http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... ight=ariel Quote
nixy Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 ok so I'm familiar with the honda aerial obviously but what does the standard 350z aerial look like and do they swap easy if necessary Quote
Removed Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 bottom one on the previous lomoto's poll is the oem one Quote
nixy Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 so what's wrong with that then? I don't mind it. Could do with being a bit shorter but the honda one looks too chunky. Quote
Removed Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 it's just too long. disproportionate to where it is Quote

alscar Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Not sure why they couldnt put the aeriel into the windscreen?? That would be better still! Quote
sl114 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Got the honda one myself. Isnt there another one that is similar but fits nicer than the s2000 one? Quote
rmmackfc Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Stubby all the way +1 Std is way to big, stubby does the job and have not had radio reception issues Quote
Kennydies Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Stubby for me, I had a spare one when I went from my type-r.... Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 In answer to your original question Nixy, it what sets we 350Z-uk members apart from the others, and it couldn't be easier to fit as it just screws into the original base. Quote

nixy Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 so having a stubby if you're a member here is a bit like having a funny handshake? Quote

Pingu2 Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 must say that the reception IS better on the original aerial; I have noticed an improvement recently having to put my original back on after someone pinched my stubby (not as exciting as it sounds!) Quote

nixy Posted March 19, 2007 Author Posted March 19, 2007 well as I haven't got the stubby or the Z you chaps feel free! Quote
rmmackfc Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 I'm going to take mine off if this is a requirment Quote
Zzzz... Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 xtrail stubby fits nicely... however, it is ok on presets for my area, but as soon as I go out of range and it tries to retune, i have lost radio 1 in some cases, for example... and it finds it difficult sometimes to retune... ( I found this out on my run to King's Lynn this weekend ... it's got something to do with the amplifier circuit in the base, which is designed for that length aerial, fitting a smaller one requires larger signal amplifier thjingybob... but not a great problem... considering the factor...
