jonst205 Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Am doing an oil & filter change (Titan Pro 5W30) later today. Having already discovered that the oil dipstick is akin to a chocolate fireguard, what do you all do with a fill - stick the whole 5 litres in or go for the 4.7 specified in the manual? Cheers, Jon Quote
choptop Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Fill it to the max mark on the dipstick. It may be difficult to see but that is what it is there for. Overfilling does a lot of damage. Quote
Dblock Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I usually add about 4.5ish and then top up slowly. Also with the filter in sure it's 4.9. Quote
jonst205 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 For anyone looking via search in the future, it was 4.5L exactly to the top of the full line on the dipstick, with filter change. Cheers, Jon Quote
FUG Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 The dipstick on the zed is the worst design ever!! :@ is a pain getting it in an checking levels without getting oil all smeared up sides! After several attempts I think it may be under the low level but have not had an oil warning light come on or anything, is that not suppose to happen?? Quote
adam1942 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 What oil pressure are you getting when cold / warmed up? 1 Quote
scubapics Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 You may find it easier to check the oil from the flip side of the dip stick rather than the side with the H/L markings. Quote
Ekona Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 By the time the oil light comes on, you've already damaged your engine. Ridiculous idea, but most cars are the same for some reason. Quote
FUG Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 What oil pressure are you getting when cold / warmed up? Pretty much bang on 90 psi?? Quote
