B3n5253 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Hello everyone Does the ecu reset procedure delete the fault from the cars memory completely or does it log it and leave it there. If it was plugged in and read. Would it show up there has been a fault? Quote
Ricey Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Good question........I cleared a code on my Alfa yesterday and it was showing 'no historic codes'................there is no way an Alfa has driven 93k without having a previous fault code! Quote
ewan221 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 My ecu which to be honest belongs in a museum does not store anything after reset. No idea though about more uptodate ones. Quote

I had two GTV's, they were nothing BUT fault codes! Quote
B3n5253 Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 So it clears all trace of the fault? Quote
Neilp Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 So it clears all trace of the fault? What are you trying to hide lmao. Have you been a naughty boy running wrong fuel or something and trying to disguise it Quote
simon da silva Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 i couldn't get mine to reset if i removed the power from the ecu in 1 hour.. i had to use OBD reader to clear the error code.. but my car ECU is behaving VERY funny! Quote

And I was hoping when I take it to the garage they can still find it to work on it. Quote

B3n5253 Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Just have a cobra mid pipe back so shouldn't effect it. Maybe I should get it plugged in to find out. Quote
DoogyRev Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Could just be a faulty sensor or loose Best get it checked out Drop in on one of the Traders/Forum Members who have the equipment to diagnose Quote
