ashyk36 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 The last few days I have been hard at work trying to get an android tablet to fit in my cubby. I was going to buy just a sat nav to put in however the temptation of putting an android tablet in to use for navigation as well as music etc proved too much. From this... To this... Let me know what you think Quote
350 Russ Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Looks decent , how did you get around the on/off switch? What tablet is it? Quote
Yupp Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Looks great, I want to do something similar to replace my Jap screen but not sure on a tablet or dvd/tv/satnav complete units from fleebay. Was it much hassle to fit? Quote
ashyk36 Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 At the minute the off/on button where the red led is, its stuck to there. Its not great but its the best solution. The tablets running honeycomb and is 7 inches. Yes it was tricky.. im pretty good at taking things apart but this was tricky. Getting it and keeping it in place was also tricky, however now ive done it once i could do it with my eyes closed :-D Quote
wls350 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Very cool, this is how i mounted my Samsung P6200 in my car I did it so i can remove the tablet, living in the wonderful country i do lol i love having everything hooked up. Put Waze on as GPS its brilliant. Quote

pbomb Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Very clever stuff. Not sure where I would even start with something like that Quote
narcotix Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Great work! Now if you could dismantle it all and put it back together with some pictures of each step that would be great! Quote
taras Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Very nice. But can you tell us what tablet you're using? Specs? Also where is the on/off switch? Normally they're hard wired to the edge so how did you over come that? How are you boosting the sound? Pre-amp? Quote
nij1983 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 nice job...does look clean I quite like this....though the practicality of having to take ur iPad out with you each time you went to drive is a bit of a headache http://www.mp3car.com/show-off-your-project/146161-350z-ipad-install.html Quote
