Motordyne xyz rubber gasket

I've just picked up a second hand motordyne xyz pipe and art decat pipes

The hfc attachment was unscrewed for transporting and Ive noticed what looks like an orange rubber gasket where the clamp is, but it's caked in carbon and is flaking to bits.

 

Is it necessary and if so where can I get another one?

Mark's let me know motordyne don't supply these with the new xyz pipes so it's not really a necessary part.
