I am happy to keep the interior and exterior of my car clean but not really sure how to clean the engine bay so wondered if you could pay someone to do it for you? Shinjuku Posted May 21, 2012 Share Posted May 21, 2012 Its no more difficult than cleaning your bathroom. - Buy auto glym engine and machine cleaner and spray on inside engine bay. - agitate with paintbrush as necessary. - rinse off carefully with water from one of those narrow spout watering cans - use brain to keep electrics dry as reasonably possible - spray on auto glym rubber care. - close bonnet and walk away That is all. Unless you literally want to be able to lick the inside of the engine bay that will be clean enough. Anyone who tells you it has to be more complicated than that is incorrect in my view. It's really not that difficult to do yourself, I've not managed to break anything (yet) despite doing several engine bays and I'm a complete idiot at the best of times.
