JackStrong Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Hi I recently got hold of the halfords buffer, works fine etc but today it was so hard to get the polish off after it had dried and the buffing mitt just had no effect. I ended up having to go over by hand, took absolutely ages to work it off. Any recommendations, is there a solution I should apply on the buffer wheel to aid in removing residue ? Washed the two Nissan's though only polished and wax'd the 350z: Quote
glrnet Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 My advisor in Wales always tells me to only apply a very thin film Quote
Zugara Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Only do one panel at a time and apply wax with a damp cloth, helps give you a thin coating, never do it in the sun....or wax your cars. Quote

Washed the two Nissan's though only polished and wax'd the 350z: A thin coat is the solution. My preference is Meguires Ultimate paste which takes about 10 Min dry. By the time iv'e been completley round the car the first pannel is ready to be wiped clear. The trick to easy removal is for it to be completely dry if you use your finger and wipe a small line and there is a smudge then it's not dry so wait a little longer till it no longer smudges. I use this technique after being shown at the Meguiars Seminar last year. There absolutley no need for a buffer. Quote
