Start with the HU, you will need loom adapter, steering control adapter, fascia and maybe line boosters as the bose amp runs very low.

If you want to go the whole hog you can replace all the speakers and sub but you will need amps too.... Can get expensive :headhurt:

Just replacing the HU makes a huge difference, only downside is loosing the oem BT if you have it but almost all decent HUs now have BT built in anyway

Have a look in the I.C.E. section to see what me and others have fitted :teeth:

as a side note, i wouldn't worry about losing the OEM BT, sell the module on for about £80 to help fund the new head unit. you won;t need it, and the HU BT is genereally a lot better.

your biggest issue is getting the original satnav to re intergrate with the new head unit.

the image will still work, but you'll have no sound.

If your going to the trouble of ditching the Bose and you have the bird view then you might as well ditch that too...

I find the nav good a d the cockpit looks a lot better for it.

Not bothered about nav voice as it sucks and switched it off already lol.

Bose just sounds odd - like it's held back or slighty muted as such

I swapped my bose unit out for a single din Alpine 9886 and kept the Sat Nav, You can get the nav voice to work with aftermarket headunits. I wired mine into the Aux input, the only issue with this was having to switch from cd to aux input but as i hardly ever used the nav and it works well without sound i lived with this setup.

Changing just the headunit made a massive difference as it was the first upgrade i did, problem was there was to much bass from the bose sub kicking me in the back so it had to go along with the speakers. You wont be disappointed with just a headunit upgrade though.

ok - where abouts did you get the AUX input from in order to plug it into the satnav, the HU i am ordering has the AUX in the front, so would only want to plug it in when needed to prevent a cable being plugged in all the time. does an AUX come out of the satnav and into the old bose and its as simple as plugging that cable in to the new HU when needed?
