Rattly Thing On Top Of Dashboard

Recommended Posts

I know this is a very trivial matter, but if you heard it in your car you'd want to fix it too!

The little round bit of plastic on top of the dashboard on the drivers' side, with the alarm l.e.d. in, sometimes buzzes/rattles very loudly!

The noise stops if I lightly put a finger on it.

Has anyone else had this, and if so how did you cure it without stripping the dash or using unsightly sticky tape..?

(2003 350Z).

Thanks.

Sorry :offtopic: but recently I have seen so many threads on rattly dashboards it's unbelievable!

I'm guessing this is due to the season/temperature change...

Hopefully somebody will be on to give you some advice matey

I'm not the only one then!

I would turn it up ( :band: ) but I prefer to listen to the engine, always have done in any car I've owned.

If I come up with a cunning fix I'll let you know!

Strange that it doesn't do it all the time.

Same trouble, annoying fools at Ilford Car Audio fitted me with a duff stereo too.... Any fixes for this? Mine is intermittent but much worse in the cold. Have to wedge something between the dials the dash to stop it.... :headhurt:

It's usually the dash v windscreen that makes that noise. Probably just need a bit more high density foam squeezed in between dash and the windscreen.

+1 common fix to a common problem

Colder weather makes things worse - an issue not just ZED related but on many cars that use plastics in the dashboard area
