Mega Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 My battery is only showing just over 12v of charge so I guess won't keep the car starting up for too much longer. What would you suggest I replace it with? Cheers Quote
ATTAK Z Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 It depends if your car is import or UK Quote
Mega Posted September 26, 2011 Author Posted September 26, 2011 Another battery! ISIT. I was going to put a carrot across the terminals but your right a battery is more likely to start the car... Quote

Im sure uk batteries are 005L It never goes up though. Sits just above 12v at all time. Is that normal then? The guague goes up to 16! If that's normal I'll not bother replacing, Excuse my zed ignorance. I've only been an owner for 10 hours (For example: It could be that all batteries in the UK charge to this level, but as no previous car has had a voltage indicator, I've lived in ignorance of this fact). Boycey Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 My battery is at just over 12v, more if I turn all the toys on, seats, air con, Cruise etc Nothing to worry about unless she is struggling to start Quote
Stew Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I'd hope you'd see it rise when it started. An alternator generally charges at up to 14.7V so you should see it up above 12V when it starts. If it ain't broke though then no need to fix it! Quote
Dblock Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Yes it should sit at about 12v and then 14or a lil bit over it once started. Quote
Darren-B Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 If the voltage doesn`t rise when the car is started it might not necessarily be the battery, maybe the alternator is a bit tired Quote
