Track day TYRE advice

Recommended Posts

I have another track day in August to go and thought about using my original 18's that came with the car but the rear tyes have exactly 1.6mm tread on them, as long as it is dry should this do for the day ?

This would save me some dollars :teeth:

I would take the rears to the track in the car (will fit in back if you remove the spare, sit one on top of the speakers in front of the strut brace) and swap when you get there. They will defo be very illegal by the time you have finished!

Keep a careful eye on the tread depth every few laps - you don't want a blowout at high speed!

No chance, not if you're intending on driving home on them afterwards. If you're going to take them and swap them, then as Was8v says they'll be fine.
