ir_fuel Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 And 1 pothole and you can order a new one they are actually stronger than alloy ones... No way dude Carbon fibre is much more fragile In motorcycling there also exist magnesium and carbon fibre wheels, and the disadvantage of carbon fibre is that it doesnt bend, it just breaks Quote
Ian Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 They would look great if the spokes were a different colour or the spokes were carbon aswell. Look silly with the white spokes Quote
captint Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Still think they look like the A Team Van Quote
Removed Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 that's Andy @ Performance Nissan's car a lot of carbon going on there! roof etc! Quote
captint Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I wonder if you did doors roof bonnet and boot how much weight it would reduce and what the cost would be? Quote
Removed Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I would say quite a lot, to both questions . the rear hatch and doors do save a lot of Kgs. Quote
captint Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Could be the best perfromance mod for an N/A car, losing weight is the best way of going faster Quote
Pingu2 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 carbon roof sounds tricky - how to keep chasis rigid? Quote
Removed Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Could be the best perfromance mod for an N/A car, losing weight is the best way of going faster agreed. The parts shown are the new Asuka (IIRC) bodykit and I don't know how they fit, other stuff is known to have massive fitment issues and being CF it's gonna end up looking shite, imo. (seibon bonnets, doors and rear hatches have all been known to have fitment issues) Quote
Removed Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 carbon roof sounds tricky - how to keep chasis rigid? carbon is stronger than metal... but no idea on how to integrate it in the first place. edit: it's just a cover for the roof. anyway back on topic... Quote
ir_fuel Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 edit: it's just a cover for the roof. CHAV Quote

Removed Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 so its heavier than stock and looks naff :headhurt: well it won't be heavier since the other parts are replacements Quote
janoof1 Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 but if you look at the picture its clearly a panel of carbon fiberette stuck to the roof with double sided sticky tape Quote
