Michael robinson Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Cool av just started fighting (had 2 at ameture level to get used to it but working my way up) so it would be good to get an other persons view on it, do you no what gym he fights for and what his role in the industry is ? Quote
UNABASHED Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Love it! Did some BJJ with a friend a couple of years ago but was unable to keep going with him due to work, he kept it up though and now his ground work is awesome! Quote
Sarnie Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 This is his site: http://www.blitzsport.com/ Quote
Michael robinson Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Cool am glad av found some like minded people I was starting to get sick of pretending to care what happened with football and stuff haha , where did you study bjj ? It's amazing sport , very technical and deserves to be recognised as a sport Quote
UNABASHED Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Did it when I used to live in Leeds, I did boxing a little when I was younger and when I started watching MMA I was fascinated so started doing floor work. I found the floor work far more technically demanding and interesting to learn. What discipline's are you doing at the moment? Quote
Michael robinson Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 This is his site: http://www.blitzsport.com/ Al have alook around the site, he must be making some money off it cause it's growing massive as a sport in the last few year Unabashed- I currently train in mauy Thai , bjj , Mma and wrestling . I train at "the faktory gym" in benwell (Newcastle) and do all these classes there . Quote
BulletMagnet Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I enjoy watching it, not seen UFC126 yet, so no spoilers please Quote

Michael robinson Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Have you seen this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVyukIv86EU Cool or what haha Quote
Greekman Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 7 years of wrestling, 2 and half of judo, 1 year kick boxing and about 6 months of mma now. Still training at judo as well. I personally find everything a bit too much for my age and profession as in real life I d run and avoid or go for Adams apple However the sensation of throwing somebody big style can only be beaten by the tapping noise on the mat when he submits ... All the best with your training m8 and stay away from nasty joint locks Quote
BulletMagnet Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Yeah, saw that before, but it's like total fluke that hit, I mean c'mon. Yeah he's got an odd style of fighting, but put him against someone like Clay Guida with neverending cardio and see how he comes out of that. Quote
narcotix Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I enjoy watching it, not seen UFC126 yet, so no spoilers please I just watched UFC 126 Last night ... Don't worry I won't spoil it for you ... Some good fights though Quote
Michael robinson Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 That's the beauty of the sport you can match them or any other fighters an it dose not really matter as one punch or wrong move can cost you or gain you the win. All fighters have there strengths and weakness's . You just have to watch Royce gracey years ago to see that size dosent matter it's all about technique and getting things right first time . I think it wasn't fluke give him some credit he tried a creative move and it payed off not many people would try it in a fight , I think that's why Anderson silva is so dominant cause he is unpredictable and very creative with all aspects of his fight game . Quote
BulletMagnet Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 He really only hit him with the tip of his foot, so really just managed to reach, couple of inches shorter and it would have been "WTF is Pettis doing?!?!?" Quote
