accelerator pedal

hi,

 

only just run in the car and starting to have some fun !

 

noticed when i use full throttle the top tenth of travel on the accelerator pedal becomes stiff / sticking as if something is hindering the travel before it finally reaches?

full throttle.

 

has anybody else noticed this, wondering if its normal or whether i need to take it to the dealers to check out?

Yes, I think they are using the same accelerator pedal as for the auto box. It feels like an automatic's kickdown button. But actually, full throttle is the bit before that final press anyway, so you can ignore it.

thanks for the response , so does your pedal feel stiff / resistant on the last part of the travel ? like its pressing a button ?

Yes same on mine and the one i test drove before i ordered mine.

Same as above. I think they must use the same pedal in the 6MT and 7AT and such it has the kick down button in the 6MT even though it doesnt kick down

Same on mine - but I agree, a bit disconcerting when you first 'find' it on a manual. Had it checked at the service and it is normal.

+ another here, I like to think of it as "warp" drive Must be my imagination but I thought it gave a bit more on the final "push"

its been posted on another site that the click action at the end of the accelerator actually cancels the speed limiter when set. seems to have a function then if true, not tried it yet. I will have a look in the manual when I get chance to see if anything is mentioned about this ?

I think you might be right there actually... I had the limiter on the other day playing about with it and I remember it cancelling. I reckon it's because I pressed the kick down.
