low beam not work - baffled!

relentless

Recommended Posts

hi all,

The passenger side low beam isnt working on my 53 JDM

Ive tried changing the bulb and changing the fuse but still no good.

Now i thought this was odd - the bulb were both getting hot/warm but still not coming on (maybe the wrong polarity causing this?)

Anyone ideas?

Cheers

Mark

Do you have a Multimeter? If so you could check bulb for continuity.. or attach a battery and see if it lights up.

I would assume the creamy colour is right near the filament? If so it would be the heat of the filament on the internal glass surface causing it.

I would think that there is a relay somewhere in the fuse housing, yo uwould need to check the owners manual to see where they are located.

ARE you SURE the fuse is ok?

the bulb in the picture above is actually your high beam and the one with the silver box on the back is your dipped beam :)

as mentioned, check the fuse first.

but as you point out the bulb has a look to it of being blown, if that's so you may well need a new HID bulb.

Also the problem could lie with the ballast which is attached to the underneath of the unit.

check & replace:

fuse

bulb

ballast

in that order

Hi mate If possible swap the bulb from the othe side to see if it works in the light that the current one dosnt. If it works then your other bulb is goosed. If it dosnt work the tbd power pack at the bottom of the headlight may be faulty

As with stu I would recommend changing bulbs in pairs to

Make sure you get the same light and colour output

I also have powerpacks for sale if you need them

Cheers paul

Tried bulb from other light in ballast and working fine.....so just ordered a pair of new HIDs, went for 4300k as prefer range over colour.
