Yeah, gonna have a chat with zmanalex tomorrow.. certainly seems like he knows his way around the engine!

Sorry mate, with more time on this forum you'll get what I'm saying.

certainly seems like he knows his way around the engine!

Think this might be the understatement of the year. Think he has forgot more about zeds than most of us know.

  • 4 weeks later...

Well after some time, have a replacement engine found and reserved thanks to zmanalex!

Tryin to find a garage that will work on an engine out job, as no-one wants to seemingly do one.. is there something I don't know? lol. TDi North don't want it... and I'd prefer someone that has done at least one, as zmanalex has advised that its best its not their first time ;)

So sorry to ask again, but been through all the contact details people posted initially... any takers or advice on who 'would' be likely to take it with experience?

Dave,

I know of people in the Hull area who would be fine.

I have spoken with them on numerous occasions when they have been working on various Zeds and in particular when they were carrying out work for Chris (Greekman)

If this is not to far to travel then let me know and I will let you have there contact details.

Or perhaps "Datson Stan" can recommend someone as he lives in Bury, that is when he is not up here in Scotland nicking all our collectables.:lol::lol:

Alex. :)

Cheers Mark...

re: old motor.. had a few mates asking as they want to throw into an escort for fun..

But looking for options, as its a solid motor, running as normal, no damage yet as I stopped running the engine as soon as I heard a faint knock... what options do I have?
