Coming along nicely dude. I had my amp that ran the fronts in the glove box too. I'll tell you what you lot do make a great job of having me miss my old car even more! Lol

The amp I have coming will be running my fronts AND my sub...

I have something a little special in the post that I am hoping will turn up today :cloud9:

Busy lunch....

[EDIT]

MUST TRY HARDER... The camera I thought didn't fit DOES fit, just needed a little more "persuasion" then I was giving it before.

Can't get the cable to the TV to test it ON the car

So will have to wait till I get a headunit :)

[/EDIT]

------------

Also spent a little time in "the workshop" (AKA the Shower!) with a Hole cutter and a jigsaw....

All the dust stays in one place, easy to hoover, good light and wash the dust (and any blood) down the drain

B1.jpg

Pretty tight for the cable, but I will secure/seal that in with glue when I need to

B2.jpg

Ended up with this...

Just going to re-enforce the joints with some woodglue (Now I can get to them!) then line it will 12mm sticky back acoustic foam.

Try to fool the sub into thinking it is in a bigger box than it is ;)

Then I have some acoustic covering to wrap it in.

Scary... it is all starting to come together....

Just expecting a phone call to say my car has failed the MOT, due to something... possibly the drivers seat-belt not retracting all the way :headhurt:

Painting with glue?

Yup, been painting with glue.

Wanted to make sure the box was totally sealed, so I re sealed the inside and outside joins with wood glue.

Then painted the whole thing with a glue solution (5:1 then 3:1) to make sure the whole thing it totally air tight :teeth:

Right... Chosen my comps...

I have been into the ICE house and listened to a LOAD of speakers...

and I have gone for.... the Rainbow CS 265.25 Germanium Line

They are a lovely mix of sharper mids due to the metal cone on the 6.5 but a softer tweet as they have fabric cones.

Went a little over budget

Just picked up my sound deadening stuff from my friend Paul who owns Classic Acoustics.

http://www.build.co.uk/company_409669.htm (Their own web site should be up by the end of next week)

He makes sound proof rooms for a living and also does all the sound proofing for JCB's

Lucky me has been given a LOAD of stuff.

Two HUGE sheets of "AG-Barrier FO12(PVC Based)"... which to you and me is Dynamat.

And a LOAD of "Type O Acoustic duct liner" which is AMAZING sound deadening stuff.

Paul says that he can accommodate ANY sound deadening needs. So if you guys want some, mention me and he will sort you out.

For what he gave me (Including a load of DECENT glue) he said he would charge £90 for people to fetch it.

Working this out with dynamat prices it would be close to £800!

ring em... 01952 587360, Ask for Paul, tell him James with the 350Z sent ya ;)
