What To Get?

Hi all,

 

Looking for new wheels for GT so would want 18". But what width?

Someone told me 18"X8.5 on front and 18"X9.5 on the back???

 

Do you all agree with this or stick to 18"X8.5 all round?

I run 8.5 at the front and 10 on the back

I have chosen the wheels, i was just wondering the size.

 

But already it looks like wider on the back.

An 8.5/9.5 F/R combo will be fine.

The wheels i want dont come in 18X10 so i will get the 9.5.

did you check that the tyre sizes are right and won't upset the ESP?

I have been told by the company that make the wheels i want (dotz alloys) and they recomend that i get the 19" and not 18" because of the breaks???

 

Is this right or are they just trying to get more money out of me??

It may be that the 18s dont clear the brembos?

 

Post a link to the alloys online or name them and I am sure people will check the stats out for you ...is the the Dotz Gt-r by any chance?

Needing 19s to clear brakes? That's a bit odd, we have 17s that easily clear them. Must be heavyweight wheels or a funny design to have that issue, 350Z brakes are generally not an issue with wheels, like Evos and Sport Clios where they have funny size disc / caliper combinations.

The 19" Hanzo's I was running cleared the front Brembos by less than 2mm.

 

The spokes got thicker as they run out from the hub up to the rim, meaning the 18"s touched the top of the Brembo caliper.
