Zugara Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 After some advice chaps. What is the best method of removing treesap/honeydew from paint work on cars? Many thanks.... Quote
Stew Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 A clay bar and suitable lube would be my recommendation. Quote

Muttley Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 A good wash with a bug sponge and then Meg's Claybar and Quick Detailer lube worked a treat when mine was covered Quote
martinmac Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 I put the same question to a pro recently, the suggested solution was snow foam then clay bar and lube. Quote
Zugara Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 I put the same question to a pro recently, the suggested solution was snow foam then clay bar and lube. What is snow foam? And is it rare? Quote
Stew Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 If clay doesn't take it off then nothing will bar a sanding disc. I'd try again! This time do it right! Quote
martinmac Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Its very good at lifting the nasty stuff. You need a lance which attaches to a suitable power washer plus a bit of the snow foam liquid. Quote
350 Russ Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 try a bit of tardis or tar remover, or as mentioned the snow foam Quote

Chris`I Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Try pinging it off with your fingernail to get rid of the most of it, then finish it off with a claybar Quote

UNABASHED Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 whenever I park outside the gf's house it's under tree's for the weekend and gets covered in sap - it kills me everytime! Usually I get it home, bit of tar remover over it and leave for few minutes, cover in snow foam and leave 5 minutes, then hose down, wash/wax/polish etc Quote
Zugara Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 Tardis in a spray bottle Ok where do you get this stuff from, it really is like the "tardis" Quote

H5 Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss diluted to 'strip' ratio (can't remember what it is, it's written on the bottle in the garage) should help break it down if you don't go Snow Foam. Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/autosmart-tardis-clean.html Or here if you want it about 20% cheaper! http://www.autoperfection.com/shop/Auto ... googlebase Quote
Dblock Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Tardis in a spray bottle Ok where do you get this stuff from, it really is like the "tardis" Its great stuff honestly. I got a 1ltr bottle from ebay as I dont need that much. But the 5ltr bottle isnt that expensive. Quote
autoperfection.com Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 We'd recommend either snow foaming the car and then washing it off with a good pH neutral shampoo, or giving a good going over with Tardis if it's really covered Hope this helps Taryn and Jim Quote
stesrg Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I have removed tar and sap with WD40 !!!!!!!!! Ste . Quote
