Gurjeet
The prev owner of my car obviously wore a ring, the plate with the gear pattern is very scratched and worn away. Anyone got any solutions for replacement without replacing the whole part? Its in good condition and would rather avoid. Maybe something metal to stick to the top of it? sparky370z
looked into this myself. there is nothing that u can buy to replace this. i looked at getting something made and sticking it in there, but they all looked crap. just get a new knob. i did in the end. also try some autosol. on the pattern, took a while to polish but it did look much better. bigbramble
My new car also has 'knob damage caused by a tight ring' don't suppose you found a solution or know how much a new original gear knob costs?
Greekman
Get a new after market knob. make sure its a heavy one as well. improves the feeling of the gear change by a lot

Drop me a PM if I can help you further. Alex.
