Exhaust and induction change

Hi I'm new here and Z's, just looking to buy a one.

 

The car I'm looking at an 04 car that has had a Nismo cat back performance stainless exhaust system together with a Nismo induction system fitted. Now if I go a long way back to when I use to play with sorry, minis and escorts and the like making these sort of changes required a trip to a rolling road to reset the tuning due to back preseure changes etc. Will this be required with this change or will the ECU cope with it.

 

Also what sort of power change would this produce and the resulting change on MPG

ECU's have come a long way since then

 

car self learns and adjusts its self accordingly, won't see massive gains or changes unless you get it remapped with an uprev retune. then it will make the most of what the car has to give.

 

the nismo stuff is nice kit and not cheap either, the exhaust at the moment will set you back about £1200

Yeah, would agree re.performance, doesn't change it much at all. What it does do is create a sound that only the gods should be able to make

 

I have a 5Zigen A-spec exhaust fitted along with a few extra bits (sport CATS, plenum spacer, straight through Y Pipe and popcharger) and I absolutely love the way it sounds, especially as you go through 3500 revs. Music to my ears.

 

Didn't have to change anything else on the car and haven't noticed any difference re MPG.

I am very soon in need of a new exhaust - would love a Nismo - any ideas on price and who would carry any stock.

To the op, not sure where you based? A trip to Abbey if your in the south or RS Tuning if your north for an uprev remap will make the most of the mods.

I know mate, it's the Neutreus you know. We enjoyed a 'spirited' drive up from S.Wales, followed by a beer or three and then to a certain RAF base in Cambridge last year. Thought I would put a few posts on here too.

 

As to the comment re.Envy, couldn't agree more, after all, they did all my mods, a superb job

No it doesn't.

 

You can't do the break test on them at MOTs but you can do a power run with no problems
