Jump starter via cig lighter.....safe?

Seen a B&D portable jump starter that you charge at home, plug into 12v cig socket to boost weak car battery for 10 min then start car.

But instructions say some ecu's may get damaged by use and to check owners manual to see if car is compatable.

Doesn't warn anywhere in owners manual against such usage.

What do you guys reckon?

Personally I wouldn't do it. The cig lighter is not really designed for high power continued use Andy which I am guessing something like that will do?

Just for info.

The AccuMate trickle charger does'nt work via the Cig power points.I tried. :bangin:

It only works with the ignition in P2 well think it was P2 and I don't fancy leaving the key in the car even though it is in the garage and the garage is alarmed.
