matth76
My exhaust backbox/midpipe has a small blow in it - it is noticable but not overly loud, just sounds "sporty". It's the stock/standard exhaust. Will it affect my MOT? I've got my MOT end of this month. I am planning on getting the Japspeed K2 exhaust but it is currently out of stock Thanks for any help and info.
Stew
A rotten or blowing exhaust could cause a fail so get it repaired or replaced http://www.classic-car-magazine.co.uk/a ... ation.html I was going to do a LMGTFY but decided to be kind..... Carbon Coops
In theory yes, the mot tester can fail it if he/she considers it to be a substantia leak, so it is down to his/her discretion and it it is to the point you can hear it i am 99% sure he/she will fail it. That asside it will also effect the emmisions reading so could fail because of that aswell. Where in the country are you ? Coops
marzman
Yes it will... but if you just buy a tub of exhaust putty and wodge it on there (technical term) then it'll get through fine. I did this.

Maccaman
I had the same problem at my last MOT. Put it in anyway and the garage did a little weld without any prompting and passed the car (Brincars at Cannock). Only lasted a week and have since got a K2, happy times
