i used to have a convertible, and i must admit i think it affected my hearing, although it could have been me standing near jet engines at full tilt without ear defenders, or working in workshops for long periods of time. or dabbling in stupid sized engines without ear defenders. or all the loud music i used to listen to, or the clubs i used to come out from with my ears ringing.

 

my hearing is screwed, i'm partial deaf on one side, and i'd still proably go back and do all the things i did. but maybe i'd wear protection more often next time

It all depends a guy at my old work had a stripped out race spec elise that for some reason he used as a daily river. He had to drive with ear defeners on

My MR2 ragtop was louder but in 3 years of ownership never had a cold.Fresh air is better than a stuffy bug filled cabin - so you either go deaf or catch colds:lol:

In my experience there's little fun to be had driving a convertible on motorways for any extended period.

i used to love long drives with the roof down, i used to have it down in the winter, at night, when ever i could go topless i would.
