Harman350z Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 For anyone with polished rims &/or Lips.. After much scrubbing of my alloy's deep dish rims and having no luck getting the chemical stains and tarnished look out, i tried Megiares All Metal Polish, 2 hours later i had all 4 wheels sparkling. Here is the before and after.. click to enlarge it to see the full difference. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 they've come up really well, good effort. Quote
BladesGrant Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Can only see one picture but they look great. Getting new alloys soon and may get myself some of this. Quote

There is only supposed to be one picture. (LEFT HALF) alloy polished (RIGHT HALF)alloy stained & i most definately reccomend this product. approx £9 use with terry towel. Quote
BladesGrant Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Ha ha There are so shiney that I just concentrated on the really shiney part and expected a before picture and after picture. Whoops!!! Quote
3FIDDYZ Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 yep good stuff, but it will take your laquer off... if you have any!!! Investing in a polishing mop kit that goes on the end of a drill is a good idea, Tony (Chilli Red) used the kit on his too good effect, but thats top work with the megs Quote
Stew Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I find that my polished lips get scratched. Dirt and much sits in the lip and just goes spinning! I give it a bash with megs metal polish too. Quote
Stew Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I'll give this a go too.... Be VERY careful with your laquered rims BM. Quote
BulletMagnet Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I'll give this a go too.... Be VERY careful with your laquered rims BM. Don't care anymore now, damage is done so nothing to loose. Current plan is to wait and have the dishes refurbed with a diamond cut finish and then lacquered. If this works out favourably, then it's worth the £9 punt seeing as they will be taken off for the winter. Quote
