ab350z Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Honestly, your interior is going to be a nicer place to be than my living room before long!! Quote
srobrien Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 Just wait until i get my persian rug and vinyl brick effect wallpaper up, then you will be jealous Quote
srobrien Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 Fair play for doing a diy carbon job lol, cheers, must admit getting a fair sweat on playing with that stuff, its sooooo delicate! R Quote
introspect Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Wow, that looks really impressive! Is the carbon applied to the existing dash plastics or is it a complete replacement? Whichever it is I'm very jealous Quote
srobrien Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 Its over the existing parts, technique called skinning. I suppose it defeats the purpose of CF but it looks sweet so thats all im after. R Quote
Husky Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Its over the existing parts, technique called skinning. I suppose it defeats the purpose of CF but it looks sweet so thats all im after. R does it thicken the parts up a little making things like the gauges a tight fit? Quote
srobrien Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 no because its trimmed around the edges. Its fairly easy to cut when its got a coat of resin on it. Quote
marzman Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Have you trimmed the center console parts down? As even if its 1mm bigger then it wont fit back together! Speak to TmJak about the work he's had done! That said, it looks fantastic. Even if it doesnt fit back, you know its doable, and you can work on other less delicate parts. Quote
srobrien Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 I've trimmed it to the same level as the original part so all going well should go back together. Thanks for the comments. R Quote
rtbiscuit Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 well done mate, thats good going, not an easy task by any means but you've got a very good finish there. Quote
