I know a lot of the guys on this forum know a lot about cameras so i thought i'd ask for some advice.

I'm looking for a point and shoot digital camera with a decent amount of zoom and lots of mega pixels. So far i've looked at a Canon SX200is Powershot for about £250 which is at the high end of what i want to spend. I also looked at a fuji slr lookalike but i was told they weren't very good. Any thoughts? Cheers guys.

Always found my Canon IXUS to be great. Given a lot of knocks and has lasted years. Numerous member of family have them. Also great after service. One went wrong after 5 years due to a known fault and it was replaced with a current model refurb i.e. at the time a 2MP camera to a 8MP camera for free!

+! on the IXUS. I have a i85 which is great but the i90 and i95 are slightly better (but cost a fair bit more)

If you want quick power on and quick photo snapping then mine is great and has a good macro and x12 zoom :)
