bosh87 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hi everyone, Ive been looking to buy a zed for a while now, and think I've finally found one I like. Im travelling down to North London tommorrow to have a look at it. Im no car expert whatsoever, so need a little guidance in what to look out for? And what to check for? Its a black 06 plate UK GT spec zed, with 23K on the clock. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated... Cheers B Quote
jerry3167 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Make sure its got Nissan history, no cllicky rear axle sounds,Bose Stereo CD is not skipping,, dents or dings, kerbed wheels, No accident damage, body panels all line up, Check brake discs for lip/wear, all gears engage smoothly. Plus more that others will post. Quote

clarkie34 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Also make sure it's got the Bluetooth adapter. It's in the cubby between the seats behind the cupholders. Are you going to a dealer? Quote
NWZ Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 As above plus check tyre tread and make sure they are above 5mm each. A full set is around £400 on average. And 3 keys ! Full set of discs & pads £600 + but can be around £1000 for a dealer !!!! So check them lips Quote
bosh87 Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 Cheers, guys. I will certaintly check all those things out. But doesnt the Bose CD skip on all 350z's??? My mistake its actually south london somewhere, near croyden I think. Have no idea why I thought this was north london. Its not from a nissan dealership, its from a car trader down there. Mot is due in June though and i believe its the P3 service at about 27K?? correct me if im wrong? Quote
clarkie34 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Yeah it does skip but only when it's freezing so it will work fine for now. Quote

sally Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Check all the electrics work, Wipers, lights, folding mirrors, (if it has them) seat movements etc (my CD skips most days but only for the first minute or so) Make sure it has the lock nut to remove the wheels and correct paperwork! Good Luck and let us know how you get on! Quote

View as many cars as you can Quote

MrLizard Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 humm, i have a 56plate black GT uk spec zed with 23k on it, assuming your not looking at my car, which isnt for sale, if you have any questions feel free to PM me Quote
bronzee Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 As above plus check tyre tread and make sure they are above 5mm each. Sort of on that vain. Also check that the tread is wearing evenly. Most people don't even spot that the inner shoulder is wearing until it's too late. This is due to dud wheel alignments in part. Good wheel alignment should wear perfectly even across from inner to outer shoulder of the tyre. Also, check window operation. They should drop about 5mm when the door/s open or close, to release pressure. If not can either be window motor, or possibly just slightly off track. Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Hi and As has already been mentioned, I would recommend staying clear of a Cat D. There are plenty of 'nice' ones for sale at the moment so you can afford to be choosy. Quote
bosh87 Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 Ohhh i seeee, Any particular problems with cat D zeds? I saw one today and it looked sweeeet and drove to perfection!!! Quote

Its what you can't see that would concern me, freshly sprayed panels will look great but the integrity of the chassis etc would be my concern? Light panel damage = CAT D? Quote
bosh87 Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 hmmmm true!! Having a look at a few others cant hurt Quote
