j19edg
Does anybody know how much a new leather gear knob costs ? Mine has a few scuffs on it and just got one of ebay for 13.99 free delivery. Thought that was really cheap, looks and feels like genuine thing . Came in an original Nissan car spares box. Just thought i would mention it just incase its a real bargin ????. BulletMagnet
I think the genuine 350Z knob is a bit more than £14.00. There was a thread on here warning about the "cheap" one not fitting properly, because it's for a different Nissan, but is advertised to include the 350Z. Checked his feedback and he has sold quite a few all with positive feedback. Will try and fit it tomorrow and let you know how it fits, I think i have got some blutac and superglue somewhere
BulletMagnet
Well of course I could be totally wrong. Best of luck and looking forward to the results
The Hoff
It does fit as its the same thread but looks crap as it leave 40 mm of shaft () showing as the new one is about half the size of the original one. The leather gaitor looks crap as its not been designed to fit that way. You would need to fit a new gaitor with a tie top to make it look bareable and even then I dont think it would look right. It is a genuine Nissan part buts its the gear knob for the Primera not Z. I sent mine back.
T2
Can you post some pic's of it fitted and is this what you are talking about http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Leather-Ge ... 240%3A1318 I was thinking about it
The Hoff
Yes thats the one but I got it from a different seller. I cant give you any pics as I have sent it back now. Unscrew your standard gearknob and imagine one fitted that is only half the height. See if you could live with seeing the top of the gaitor, if so go for it! M13KYF
not exactly the same http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0 this item on ebay does fit but its not actually the same. Its shorter as found out by ZMANALEX
matth76
Yes a new one will be in the region of £170. Well over priced for something that only lasts 3 yrs!! Every single Z I looked at before I bought mine had peeling lacquer on top. I simply got some metal polish and a very fine wire wool (only about 99p) and a cotton cloth and it reveals the proper aluminium underneath to leave it very nice. 10mins of a bit of polish is far better than getting another new knob.
