3FIDDYZ Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Very little gain, more for noise, can be fitted short or long, long means that you may need to remove the right hand washer tank. Quote
sake-bito Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 So you can buy the kit and decide to fit it short or long? How do you go about removing the parts? Stoo Quote
IanS16 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Very little gain, more for noise, can be fitted short or long, long means that you may need to remove the right hand washer tank. On a UK car. JDMs only have a tank on the left AFAIK Quote
ab350z Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I cant see a plug-in for the MAF sensor, unlike the JWT one which has a built in plug for the OEM sensor to pop straight into. Is this likely to cause an issue? I ask because i've just bought the InvoAuto CAI from the list of ex-ESR stock and noticed there's no place for the sensor. Slightly OT, but still a bit relevant. Stew Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I can't see the ends of the pipe Chris but think it's an absolutely valid point. The JWT retains the original MAF sensor bit... not sure the technical name of the piece of plastic pipe..... This might be the same. If the ends have 'holes' to fix it to then I think this would be the correct way to fit. Quote
sunset350z Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 You have to use the original MAF unit, as you do with every other induction kit, even the JWT The kit comes with the adapter to plumb in the unit. Quote

There is one Injen kit that doesn't use the original. I think every other kit I've seen reuses the original though. Quote
ab350z Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Cool. Was just a thought. I had a CAI on my Type R that had no housing for the MAF and it threw a warning light. Couldn't see anything on the InvoAuto one when I took the bits out the box, but was at work and just wanted to open my present!! Quote

sake-bito Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I was gonna buy a kit from a seller on the forum but I ended up ordering one of these as it was a full kit and because I offered the e bay seller a lot less and won it! But now I regret it as I take it that it won't fit my uk? Might buy the one on the forum too and use the one that fits doh Stoo Quote
Stew Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 It'll fit no problem if you run it short ram I'd have thought. Quote
sake-bito Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 What would be involved in removing the washer bottle?? I was just worried that the pipe is maybe designed to be full length for the diameter of pipe and shape of filter?? STOO Quote
sake-bito Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Ok, I got the kit yesterday and it looks awesome. By far the best induction kit I've ever bought. I'd rather fit the full kit or sell it to somebody who has a jdm z. So does anyone know how to remove that washer bottle? Stoo Quote
Stew Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Check the service manuals in the guides section. Guess it'll be bumper off, close of link pipe and remove water bottle....... No idea if that's right though! Quote
sake-bito Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I'll have a wee look, don't want to sell it. I take it the extra tank is just for extra capacity? Stoo Quote
mut Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 hey i fitted one of these to my roadster about 4-5 months ago, came with quite good instructions on how to fit. if yours didnt have the instructions, i can probably dig them out for you. sounds gooood Quote
sake-bito Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Nice! Did you have to remove the washer bottle to get the pipework to the bumper? I have instructions but only had a quick look. Stoo Quote
Chris`I Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I think the pump for the washer jets are bolted pretty much directly to the water bottle below them. So removing one would disable the headlight washer for the passenger side. Quote
mut Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 ah, mine didn't go to the bumper, but I'm almost sure it was AEM CAI, fairly straightforward fit, sounds like mine is different though! good luck Quote
