I think you have to have one in Japan .... I know my mate had a Mazda bongo !!!!! -(most comfortable car in the world) with one in. Worrying this this fair was about 12 years old so we darent touch it!

Think they are compulsary in Japan - and illegal in this country! So remove it sharpish and place it somewhere in a steel box - there will be a use-by date on it also - should still be in date?

Normally they live on the nearside (passenger) footwell attached by a plastic clip. Remember Japan is a very large country - imagine Uk cars supplied with those! :headhurt:

Still got my figaro one and its dated till 2012!

But the importer should have removed it before selling the car on?

 The date is English numbers!

Its not a firework thing its just a flare you strike against the ground and lay it down - be careful matey - Hey take pics and post it up! :D

Had a space for one in my old pajero even though it was a UK car. Yep jap regulation.

Bought mine off a UK mitsi parts store... Didnt realise they were "illegal"

Let mine off after the British GP 2 years ago... sure I have a pic or 2....

They're not illegal to own, just illegal to carry in your car.

There was one in mine when I got it - attached by a clip in the passenger footwell. I think it is still in the garage somewhere - hope it's safe. :scare:

One came with my JDM. It was just loose in the pocket on the back of the passenger seat and its still there. After reading this thread Im thinking I should probably take it out!?!
