Time to hit the skid pan again. My work is so anal about health and safety that we get our driving assessed every year. They also do theory courses both for the car and the motorbike which is actually much more beneficial than it sounds.

Anyway, every two years we get skid pan training. Mine is on Wednesday afternoon for two hours. It's always good crack and you always learn something! They do a little bit where they let you go wild and drift round a cone course at about 60! Not bad getting it for free.

Love the skid plan :) Did it at Merc Benz world a few months ago.... SL6.5 AMG followed by a McLaren SLR. Hard work to get it right, but feels great when you do it!

Nice to get that stuff for free! Whens the defensive driving course? B)

Went on a skidpan at Castle Combe a month or two ago, none of that AMG or SLR business for me just a knackered 3 series and a Rover but still cracking fun and as 3 Fiddy says, it ain't easy but boy does it feel good!

My defensive driving is up to date however I'm doing the m/c theory soon..... The instructor (for driving and motorcycle) is in my local bike club and is a rather swift rider so it will be funny to see what he says about bikes!

It will be a knackered old astra or something we use, it was last time. It's still bloody good fun though!

I can think of worse things to do for free! ;)

So one would presume that they get you to do that, as it decreases their premiums they pay if you're driving one of the company cars?

Good for you none the less. :)

I remember going on a skid pan when I was about 10.

Went on a school trip to a police HQ & they took us out on the skid pad, IIRC it was a Ford Sierra

Huge fun :teeth:

The theory behind it is Bronzee that more lost time days wer caused by employees having accidents in their personal cars. This cuts that so we can remain productive!

It's a laugh though.

I'll try and sort some photos out, i made sure my other half took loads and told her it now meant that I was qualified to drive faster than her :D

That went down like a fart in a crowded lift

That was good. It was a new Astra on the jockey wheels. It was a great afternoon though. Got about 2 1/2 hours in the car which was nice.

Had good fun drifting about when the exercises were complete. The instructor was ace too. Great afternoons work! :D

Now all you need to do is organise work like that everyday. Dreams..... we have dreams......
