It say £28k within the attached thread......:)

Ah, in the comments! Not cheap then!

Nope.

I think a lot of people are going to be shocked at the cost of parts for the GT-R. Tyres are being quoted at £2,000 a set, disks and pads all round at £4,000.

Aftermarket stuff is no cheaper, exhausts are £2500+ if you look at Amuse and Mines stuff.....

It may be cheaper compared to the cars it can beat but maintaining it is not gonna be cheap.....

And what with the credit crunch :surrender::scare:

Love it but no thanks. :headhurt:

It's all relative to a point I guess. Disks and pads from Nissan on the Zed are a fortune, aftermarket exhausts tyres might be starting at those prices but once things settle down they will probably be inline with the price of the car (about twice as much as the Zed stuff).

20 inch nitrogen filled tyres won't come down much if at all. The zed is technologically light years behind the GT-R. Its supercar performance and supercar maintainence costs. :headhurt:

Agreed, but most of that has got to be the nitrogen and specialist equipment in fitting the things. I suppose if you want to beat 911 Turbos you can't have it all at half price!

True but tyres for the G are approx £330 a corner so an extra inch bigger plus the nitrogen means that the £500 is about right really. 480 bhp + will mean some pretty rapid tyre wear e.g. 6000 miles for a set of rears....there is also no indication so far about pads and disc wear but I'd expect the GT-R to eat through those too.As you say, if you want to beat 911 Turbos you can't have it all for half price!

Absolutely. If you want supercar performance then you've got to shoulder the costs of running one.

Its a common theme on PH. People buy olders cars e.g a Ferrari 360, say for £40k and then whinge about the cost of parts and services. People forget that a £120k car will always need £120k car maintainence.

I think this nitrogen thing as been over blown, a local tyre outlet close to me as been giving this as an option for years for just a few quid extra.

That's to do with the sidewall, not what they're filled with (or not when they're flat!)
