M13KYF Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 Hi I have since sold my 350z however I did go on this run a few months ago. I am by no means having a dig, and realise its difficult trying to organise such events on a grand scale - but a few of us did find that we were stopping an awful lot and didnt actually do much driving!.... i.e. lunch we were there about 2 - 2.5 hours having been stopped at a service station for 45 mins prior to this and then about a 30-45 minute drive to the restaurant. The location was nice however. We then split off on convoy's and stopped again just 30 minutes later for cake etc. for a long time - and by then it was quite late in the afternoon. Personally if I were to do it again I would prefer more driving and less stopping - and I know a couple of other drivers felt the same. As I said - im by no means having a dig, just a bit of feedback **waits to get mobbed!!** **locks front door** **boards up windows** No cakes in the afternoon this time. We also have to consider the members who are taking there partners. Many of whom don't find it as thrilling being thrown around for 2 hours. It is very difficult to keep everyone together and even though everyone had a map (I think only 8 cars managed to do the full course) where if you don't get lost and follow the route their is ample driving. Adrian When are you getting your Z Its looking like being the latter end of next week, i am basically waiting on a money chain atm :-( but the car wont be ready till the start of next week at earliest anyway. The starting point is Chester (junction 14 m56), quite a few stop overnight on the Saturday and some also Sunday night. Plenty of hotels close by. Welcome to the forum by the way. Great pics from the last event by the way. Any other recommended hotels nearby (Dene Hotel is out of rooms)? I would be driving up on Sat. Is anyone meeting up for a Saturday night beverage? Pictures bring back great memories but you really need to see 50 zeds in a line driving through villages with kids lining the streets and waving, If stuck there is a travelodge at the services where the starting point is.
