Stew Posted September 13, 2008 Share Posted September 13, 2008 For the wales meet, you meet at a services beside Chester. Have a natter and look at each others cars etc. Then head off to Wales. Arrive in Bala and park at a beautiful spot and then have a lovely lunch. Then you go back and do somemore driving including the EVO triangle. Excellent day out, you pay for your lunch and thats it! Well worth going to. I drove down from Aberdeen in North East Scotland (around 400 miles each way) for the Wales meet in May. Well worth the drive in my opinion! Once we all get out, we all look the same Can I suggest that we display our site name in the rear window (or passenger side) so that we know who we are following, whilst helping to identify each other easily? I am by no means having a dig, and realise its difficult trying to organise such events on a grand scale - but a few of us did find that we were stopping an awful lot and didnt actually do much driving!.... i.e. lunch we were there about 2 - 2.5 hours having been stopped at a service station for 45 mins prior to this and then about a 30-45 minute drive to the restaurant. The location was nice however. We then split off on convoy's and stopped again just 30 minutes later for cake etc. for a long time - and by then it was quite late in the afternoon. Personally if I were to do it again I would prefer more driving and less stopping - and I know a couple of other drivers felt the same.
