well........i went to a well known comparison website yesterday and entered in all my details, the fact i am 28, 5 years no claims etc.......

the results.....at the top of the list was £240. £240 i hear you say jesus.........unfortunately it was too good to be true as once directed to their website it went upto £820. So i had to settle for second best....well annoyed :D ...........£280 a year.lol. and with a very reasonable £100 excess.

I think it may have been a bad day for their pricing computer but i paid there and then and elft a deposit which has come off my card already. No way i was passing that up.

i still think this is cheap. what you guys reckon??

Just tried confused and the cheapest i could get was £1900, i am 27 with 9 years no claims, my best qoute is off Bell for £500, it seams to be cheaper by adding my sister and father on.

i think i got lucky!!

I was gonna leave it saved till my ins was due (nex month) but thought better of it at that price so bought it there and then and got it starting next month.

paid my deposit and they have taken it so you would think not allot they can do about it now really.

Hi Guys

Just a word of warning from an ex Insurance manager. Any modifications made to your cars - and from what I've seen almost every member has changed something - has to be notified to your insurers. If you don't they can refuse to pay out.

New wheels, spoilers, lights, stereos, etc etc all make the car more desirable and statistically more likely to crash - hence increase risk. When I worked for a very reputable firm they refused to pay out for a write off as when they saw it they realised it had different alloys to std!

BE WARNED.

PS don't shoot the messenger - and I have since left and now make an honest days pay in a different area. :surrender:

Luckily i'm with a mod friendly insurance company. Eveything is covered like for like & very little increase for mods & future mods :)

Just done the confused search - got £258 from AA with £600 excess - last year I paid £412 with Privilege and £425 excess so it might be time for a change. I'm just outside London with no garage and the udder 'alf, who's on the policy has speeding penalty points, bless.

And before anyone comments about the age thing, we know how young drivers get weighted, well as I'm more towards the other end of the scale I reckon they start applying the age factor again. Won't be long before the two meet in the middle so that all you will get is a years benefit around 40 by not being too young and not being too old
