nissanjuke Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 JUST NOTICED on my gt that on the bonnet hinge brackets, that it is not a normal bolt on hinge,it has loaded springs etc,can any body tell me what this is? I presume it is a safety feature? 1 Quote
antnee Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Its for the pop-up pedestrian safety feature. There are some pryo-technic actuators that push (and break) the hinge to lift the rear edge of the bonnet up. This gives more room for the bonnet skin to deform under a pedestrian hitting it before it contacts the engine. 1 Quote
