MattRwebB Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Looks all over I just want a rear metal pressed plate for my charge speed bumper Thought it would be easy to find on eBay or google but no not at all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Strudul Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 (edited) Are they legal for a 350z? Or is it only for show? Thought you were only allowed them on classic cars. Edited February 27, 2017 by Strudul Quote
coldel Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Pretty sure they are not legal (something about not being reflective) you would need to put them over the legal plate at shows? Quote
MattRwebB Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 I e for metal pressed plates now and there reflective .. just want a jap style square one for a charge speed bumper I'm getting fitted this week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
coldel Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 According to stuff I have read, making a material reflective is not making the plate legal. The number plate must be made of a reflective material which steel isn't. It also appears the number plate should be capable to bend and return to a flat shape again metal won't do this. Also some talk that ANPR cameras cannot read properly raised letters in certain conditions. I think the short answer is no they are not legal but happy to be shown the error of my reading up if someone knows better. In any case you would be pretty unlucky to be pulled up for it. Quote
Lexx Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 It's been discussed a few times. Here's a link from a discussion in January. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/113760-pressed-plates-on-a-z-whats-your-opinions/ Quote
Paddy78 Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Regardless of the legality, a 10 second google is all it took... http://www.platemyride.com/plate-simulators/import-plates/ Pure idleness! Quote
KyleR Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Try Neil here http://www.rockvalegraphics.co.uk They do pressed plates, but I'm not sure if they do square pressed. Quote
