You're talking about running at the limits of tyre tech for the road, and whilst of course they could make some fancy one-offs (like the Veyron), are McLaren a flush enough company to do something like that? They could once again employ BMW to make a modern day version of the high revving V12 in the F1. It quite literally should just be an updated F1 but as close to the original as possible. As others have said, McLaren have a comprehensive line up of cars now and the 'new F1' is unlikely to be groundbreaking in the same way that the original was.
